Department Info


The Internal Audit & J-SOX department of Terumo Europe, located in Leuven, provides independent assurance, concerning the effectively operating of the organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes. Therefore, the department reports functionally towards the Board of Directors and administratively to the Chief Finance Officer. The primary goal of the Internal audit & J-SOX team is to go beyond traditional process audits and to act as a truly trusted business advisor, ready to deliver added value.  


Job Summary


As an Internal Audit Intern, you will work within a highly qualified team and will contribute to all internal audit and J-SOX activities. Thereby, you will contribute directly to providing the much needed assurance of the risk management, governance and internal control processes, within the entire organization.

Job Responsibilities


As our Internal Audit Intern, you will be involved in possible projects and all day-to-day tasks. You will provide support towards all team members and thereby to all functional areas within the company.  


You will provide support in conducting thorough audit assignments for a variety of cross-cutting subjects. Consequently, you will provide the necessary management with additional recommendations when needed. 


You will provide support in monitoring the effectiveness of processes and controls that are put in place. In addition, you will provide advice to ensure the further improvement of the effectiveness of control systems. 


You will support the J-SOX officer in the monthly assessments of the J-SOX controls. 


By fulfilling your role, you will assist and challenge the management in their risk assessment, in order to implement efficient control processes and to draw up action plans.  


You will provide support in various Ad Hoc audits.  


Profile Description


You are enthusiastic and driven about complementing our highly qualified Internal Audit team. 


You are currently involved in studies at a Belgian University that provide you with a relevant background to perform well within the internship context;  e.g.  Economics, Finance, Accounting, ….  


You are a self-starter and serious about your own development and performance. Additionally, you possess good critical, analytical, organizational and communication skills. You also have a high regard for attention to detail, as well as quality. 


You are fluent in English and Dutch. This entails both verbal and writing skills. Proficiency in other languages will be regarded as an asset. In addition, you are a team player, but also take responsibilities on yourself.  


You possess a good knowledge and understanding of MS Office.
