Department Info

The Interventional Systems division (TIS) provides high quality, cutting-edge solutions for cardiac and vascular surgery, and interventional procedures performed inside blood vessels. We pursue therapies that minimize physical burden on patients. We offer diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for coronary and peripheral diseases, and oncological indications.

Job Summary

The Training and Professional Education Director’s responsibilities include:

Internal Training

  • Identifying training based on TIS specific market needs, developing group and individual learning courses and managing the training budget (applications, business model, market access, market intelligence...) 
  • Ultimately, the Training and Professional Education Director will help us develop our employees’ expertise in order to improve quality of work, productivity and retention.
  • Your target audience is our sales & marketing team in EMEA.


Professional Education

  • It includes building a strong professional education academy to address customer needs and position TIS as an educational partner on the EMEA market. For this the individual can build on a strong existing workshops program to be leveraged and aligned. 
  • Your target audience are HCP's and non-clincal staff in hospitals.
Job Responsibilities

In this new role you will review and analyze the existing internal training programs (E-learning and class trainings) to identify training needs and curriculum.  Together with the European training managers, you evaluate results and continously work  on the improvement of our offering to our target audiences, aligned with the business goals the TIS team has.  

You will work closely with the HR Learning and Development team and the L&D manager on general soft skills programs and share best practices.

You implement business coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning

In addition, you liaise with local organizations/affiliates to ensure the educational strategy matches local requirements and seamless execution and follow up at country level

You will work closely with the Global Training and Education Team and leverage the state-of-the-art training center in Japan, Pranex to allow for an optimum cost-effective application in EMEA.

Working closely with the Marketing directors is key to evaluate new training needs (New products, new solutions, etc.…) and make business cases to allocate to right budget for the right project.

You will manage a team of over 10 associates, based in our EMEA HQ in Leuven, Belgium.

You will recommend new training methods (including e-learning courses and game-based platforms…)

Profile Description

You are an experienced trainng & professional education leader, who is active in this field for 10 years or more.   Having worked in marketing or sales before is a strong asset. 

You have a solid experience organizing trainings and designing the educational curriculum.

Ideally, you have experience in the Healthcare environment more specifically the medical devices industry, but not a must.

You have an in-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching).   You keep yourself informed abour new learning techniques and bring can bring them into reality.

Besides a strategic vision, you keep a hands-on  attitude,  having experience with project management and budgeting

You have excellent communication and networking skills.  As an experienced people manager, you bring coaching- and leadership skills to the table.

You are fluent in English (one more language is a plus…).

You will work from our HQ in Belgium, and are able to travel 10 to 15% of your time.
