European Product Training Manager IO

Department Info

The TIS training and education department is responsible for designing and delivering all internal trainings to the Terumo Interventional systems sales team regarding products, but also business related behavioural trainings, to enable our colleagues on the field to be successful in achieving their target.   In addition, they provide an excellent professional education program to address the training needs of HCP's and other stakeholders at our clients. The team consists out of an e-learning team, Product Training Managers and is headed by our EMEA Training and Professional Education Director. 

Job Summary

As European Product Training Manager Interventional Oncology (IO), you are responsible for the development and execution of the IO training strategy and the translation of this strategy into training actions and materials.  Your target audiences can vary from the BU marketing team, the local sales & marketing teams in our branches and our distributors

Job Responsibilities

1.    Product knowledge
You have an extensive knowledge of Terumo and competitor products in your Therapeutic Domain, and keep your industry knowledge updated through clinical papers, competitor websites, congress attendance (selected) and physician interactions
Sales representatives can count on you for product knowledge, clinical data training, technical and case support where necessary. You translate clinical data into useful trainings 
You position Terumo products as solutions for interventional oncology procedures and translate product training in marketing directed training.
Furthermore, you provide cross portfolio foundation to improve our professional education offering towards HCP’s.

2.    General Strategic training support
Aligned with the IO marketing strategy, you identify business unit and branches training needs to develop successful, competent sales teams (new starter and continuous) including continuous evaluation of IO clinical and technical competency levels at all levels for sales force. 
Your target audiences are our internal sales force and our distributor sales force. You make sure your trainings close the knowledge gaps of your target audience, and you deliver them soft skills training principles.  These can be role plays, features/advantages/benefits, customer profiling and selling techniques.  You follow trends on the market to make sure your training delivery is aligned with the latest techniques. 
You build a training strategy for the distributor training (with the sales organisation), which is based on the focus products and strategic objectives for the business

3.    Organisation/Delivery of training
You organize, coordinate, and deliver IO training programmes for new starters and experienced professionals.
In collaboration with the BU and local S&M teams, you develop and implement a curriculum for continuous training that is tailored for countries, sales rep expertise, including the needs of distributors.  Trainings can be delivered in our HQ in Belgium and locally.  
In addition, you provide feedback to business unit and branches about training and development of their trainee/s
Furthermore, you manage your training programmes within your budget and you ensure all assessments and certificates are in line with quality and compliance procedures

4.    Contributing to the development of the training department
You present and discuss new ideas for training and presentations or tools with your peers and your manager, to keep training centre in touch with technology advances.  You connect with the HR Learning & Development team to share knowledge and best practices

Profile Description

You have a master’s degree (or comparable through experience), preferably linked to the Paramedical or Medical Device Industry. Fluent in English, any other European language is an asset.

You have a proven experience in clinical and product training for complex medical products.  IO product knowledge would be a strong asset.
In addition, you have practical experience with marketing/sales training techniques and approaches
You demonstrate excellent communication skill; you can vary your communication towards different audiences, both verbal, written and show excellent presentation skills

You are a strong organiser, able to plan, follow up and execute projects

You are able to connect well with both internal and external customers, you understand their business needs and look for the right solution based on their needs.

You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment and can shift priorities in line with the business updates, adapting the implementation plan accordingly.

You are used to work with a high degree of autonomy but also show a collaborative approach, working with others to reach results 

You are flexible to travel International travel 30% of your time
