Job Summary

We are looking for a System Engineer with a strong hands-on networking focus (Cisco) to join our IT Operations team. Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment spanning on-premises technologies and Microsoft Azure, you will help ensure the stability, security and continuous improvement of our infrastructure landscape across the EMEA region.
As part of a growing team, you will work closely with architects, engineers and external service partners to support infrastructure changes, review technical solutions and contribute to the resolution of complex incidents across both IT and OT environments. While the role offers broad exposure to infrastructure, cloud and core services, networking will be your main area of focus. You will play an active role in troubleshooting and resolving network, firewall and connectivity issues, particularly within Cisco environments.
Operating within an outsourced delivery model, you will collaborate closely with service providers who manage day-to-day operations, while contributing technical expertise, supporting improvement initiatives and helping to ensure high-quality service delivery. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, wants to broaden their infrastructure knowledge and thrives in a collaborative international environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with Cisco networking technologies, including switching, routing, VLANs and access controls
• Analyse network traffic and performance to identify issues and opportunities for improvement
• Support network segmentation initiatives across IT and OT environments
• Review and validate firewall configurations and connectivity requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues and partners to deliver reliable and secure network services

Infrastructure & Cloud Services
Alongside your networking responsibilities, you will contribute to the management and continuous improvement of a broad infrastructure landscape spanning on-premises and cloud environments.

• Support Windows Server environments, on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure services
• Review and validate infrastructure changes and implementations delivered by external partners
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives and operational excellence
• Support the resolution of complex technical issues and critical incidents when required

Azure & Hybrid Cloud
You will contribute to the management and evolution of Terumo's hybrid cloud environment.

• Support and review Azure Virtual Machine deployments and related infrastructure services
• Work with Azure networking components, including Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets and Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Assist with hybrid connectivity solutions and cloud integration activities
• Support identity integration between Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID

Identity & Core Services
You will help maintain the core infrastructure services that support users and business operations across the organisation.

• Support Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID environments
• Contribute to the management of core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP and NTP
• Help ensure the reliability, security and availability of identity and infrastructure services

Partner Collaboration
Working closely with external service providers is an important aspect of the role.

• Build effective working relationships with infrastructure partners
• Review technical work delivered by service providers and provide input where needed
• Contribute to maintaining service quality and operational consistency
• Support change implementation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop a broad understanding of infrastructure services and their dependencies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with infrastructure architects and fellow engineers to help translate designs into operational solutions
• Collaborate with Automation and Engineering teams supporting manufacturing environments
• Help ensure infrastructure services effectively support OT systems, including PLC, SCADA and Historian platforms
• Contribute to projects and initiatives across infrastructure, networking and operational technology domains

Security & Compliance
You will contribute to maintaining a secure and compliant infrastructure environment.

• Help ensure alignment with relevant security frameworks, such as NIS2
• Contribute to compliance activities within regulated environments, including GxP
• Support audits, risk assessments and remediation initiatives where required
