The Strategy Planning team supports Terumo Europe in turning strategy into clear goals, priorities and actions. Reporting into the CFO organisation, which brings together Finance, IT, Strategy Planning and Strategic Risk, the team helps monitor the strategic roadmap and supports project and portfolio management across the organisation.
 
But strategy doesn’t happen in isolation. Economic shifts, geopolitical developments, emerging technologies, societal changes and environmental trends can all influence our business. That is where you come in.
 

Job Summary

 
During this exploratory internship, you will investigate selected external trends and explore their potential relevance for Terumo Europe. By identifying reliable sources and translating your research into clear, structured insights, you will help create a practical starting point for understanding how developments outside our organisation could influence our business.
 
 
Please note that this internship takes place in Leuven, Belgium, in a hybrid setup. To be eligible, you must be based in Belgium and affiliated with an educational institution for the full duration of the internship. Your educational institution must also be able to provide an internship agreement covering the entire internship period.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

As Business & External Trends intern, you will: 

  • Get to know Terumo Europe, our business and strategic context
  • Select one or two relevant external trends together with your internship supervisor
  • Research these topics using reliable and accessible public information sources
  • Collect, structure and summarise relevant information and key developments
  • Explore how these external trends could connect to Terumo Europe’s business, exchanging ideas with colleagues along the way
  • Translate your research into clear, practical insights and create a simple format for sharing updates
  • Summarise your key findings and present them to relevant colleagues at the end of your internship

 

Profile Description

 

We are looking for a student who:
  • Is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, for example in Business, Management, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Data/AI or a related field
  • Is curious about business, strategy and international developments 
  • Has a strong analytical mindset and enjoys working with data and information to identify patterns, connections and key insights
  • Enjoys researching and can critically assess the reliability and relevance of different information sources
  • Can structure complex information and translate it into clear, concise and practical insights
  • Is communicative and comfortable discussing ideas, asking questions and presenting findings to different colleagues
  • Can work independently, while proactively seeking input and collaborating with others when needed
  • Feels comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment and has a good working knowledge of English
  • Most importantly, brings curiosity, an open mind and an eagerness to learn
