Internship Project Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DE&I Intern/Junior Consultant to support our five Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) focused on gender, LGBTQI+, cultural diversity, generations, and people with disabilities. The intern will play a crucial role in assisting these groups by providing administrative, logistical, and creative support to help plan, coordinate, and execute various events and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination and Support:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing ARG events, such as workshops, seminars, panel discussions, and awareness days.
- Coordinate logistics, including meeting room booking, setting up virtual meetings, managing RSVPs, and arranging catering and materials.
- Create and distribute event materials, such as agendas, flyers, and handouts.
- Support event promotion through internal communications and social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Assist with post-event activities, including gathering feedback, analyzing attendance, and compiling reports.
Communication and Outreach:
- Serve as a point of contact for ARG members and the Corporate Communication team, helping to coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes and organizing the TEAMS Groups.
- Assist in developing and maintaining content for ARG-related internal communication channels, such as newsletters, intranet pages, and social media.
- Help create and manage a calendar of DE&I events and initiatives across the ARGs.
- Develop and maintain a directory of internal and external DE&I resources.
Research and Content Development:
- Conduct research on DE&I best practices, trends, competitor analysis and relevant topics to inform ARG activities and initiatives.
- Assist in creating educational materials, toolkits, and presentations for ARG leaders and members.
- Support the development of surveys and data collection methods to assess the impact of ARG initiatives.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate records of ARG activities, including budgets, attendance, and feedback.
- Assist with tracking and reporting on ARG metrics and goals.
- Help manage volunteer sign-ups, schedules, and task assignments.
- Provide general administrative support to the DE&I team as needed.
Profile Description
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a strong interest in supporting DE&I initiatives.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in event planning, project management, or communications.
- Familiarity with DE&I concepts and practices.
- Prior experience in a corporate or professional setting is a plus.
