Department Info

Within PSD Global Strategy & Marketing, we help shape and execute the strategic priorities that support PSD’s long-term growth and financial objectives.

Our scope brings together strategic planning, portfolio management and execution across PSD’s businesses and future growth opportunities. Working closely with functions including Product Management, Business Development, Innovation, Operations and Finance, as well as regional and site leadership, we help create alignment between strategic priorities, investments, resources and execution.

As we move forward with our GS31 strategy, we are strengthening our focus on strategic execution. The newly created Global Strategy & Execution Office Manager position will play an important role in bringing greater visibility, structure and consistency to the execution of our global strategic portfolio.

Job Summary

As Global Strategy & Execution Office Manager, you will drive PSD’s strategic execution and portfolio governance agenda, ensuring that strategic initiatives, investments and resources remain aligned with our long-term ambitions.

You will establish and manage an integrated view of PSD’s strategic portfolio, providing the structure, governance and management information needed to prioritise initiatives, monitor performance and support effective decision-making.

Working across functions, regions and leadership teams, you will connect strategy with execution by identifying priorities, tracking progress and dependencies, highlighting risks and ensuring that the right topics receive management attention. You will work closely with the existing PMO organisation while maintaining a broader perspective across the full portfolio, including initiatives outside the formal PMO structure.

This is a newly created, individual contributor, position with the opportunity to shape how strategic execution is managed within PSD. It requires someone who can combine strategic perspective with hands-on implementation: creating the frameworks, dashboards and governance needed to turn strategic priorities into measurable progress. The role will also lead selected high-priority strategic projects requiring strong cross-functional collaboration and executive sponsorship.  You will report to the Global Vice-President Marketing of the PSD BU.

Job Responsibilities

As Global Strategy & Execution Office Manager, you will:

  • Establish and continuously improve portfolio governance, including frameworks, processes, dashboards, KPIs and reporting mechanisms that create transparency across PSD’s strategic portfolio.
  • Maintain an integrated view of strategic initiatives and growth opportunities, ensuring alignment between portfolio priorities, investments, resources and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Lead portfolio review and prioritisation, establishing clear criteria and decision frameworks to assess strategic relevance, business impact, resource requirements, risks and expected outcomes.
  • Monitor strategic execution and portfolio performance, identifying risks, dependencies, resource constraints and barriers to execution, and ensuring that critical topics are appropriately escalated.
  • Provide management with clear and actionable insights through portfolio reviews, executive reporting and recommendations, supporting informed prioritisation, investment and resource decisions.
  • Build, review and challenge business cases for strategic initiatives, growth opportunities and investments, assessing strategic fit, potential return, risks and resource implications.
  • Lead selected high-impact strategic projects, developing appropriate roadmaps and governance and coordinating execution across functions, regions and stakeholders.
  • Drive organisational alignment, building strong relationships across business and support functions and influencing stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • Facilitate leadership reviews, workshops and strategic planning sessions to support decision-making and accelerate execution

Profile Description

We are looking for an experienced professional who combines a strong portfolio/programme management toolkit with strategic thinking, business acumen and hands-on execution.

You ideally bring:

  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, strategy, programme/project management, product management, business development, consulting or corporate development.
  • Strong experience in portfolio management, strategic execution, governance and management reporting.
  • A proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to assess projects based on strategic and commercial relevance.
  • Experience building and evaluating business cases and supporting senior leadership decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, planning and structuring capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Confidence working with senior leadership and across cultures, functions and geographies.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and outcome-oriented mindset.

Experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, CDMO, biotech or healthcare environments is highly relevant. A background combining consulting with subsequent hands-on experience in an operating business could also be particularly valuable.

An MBA or equivalent qualification, portfolio or project management certification, and experience with investment governance, M&A evaluation or transformation programmes would be advantageous.

Above all, you are someone who can move comfortably between the big picture and the detail. You enjoy bringing clarity to complexity, building structure where it does not yet exist and translating strategic ambitions into tangible results.

International travel of approximately 25% is expected

Offer

This is a unique opportunity to take on a newly created global role with direct impact on the execution of PSD’s strategy.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Build something from the ground up, shaping the governance, tools and ways of working for strategic execution.
  • Create visible business impact by helping translate strategic priorities into action and measurable progress.
  • Gain significant global exposure, working across functions, geographies and cultures.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on strategically important initiatives and decisions.
  • Combine strategy with execution, staying close to the strategic agenda while being directly involved in making it happen.
  • Influence an entire portfolio, creating greater transparency, coherence and prioritisation across PSD.
  • Take genuine ownership in a role with the freedom to create structure, establish new approaches and drive progress.

If you are energised by connecting strategy with execution, navigating complex global environments and creating the structure that turns ambition into results, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Terumo.
