Our Legal and Compliance team protects Terumo's assets and people in EMEA, while enabling its goals and vision through expert support, proactive business partnering, and effective risk management. We are now looking for a Legal Operations Officer to support this motivated and engaged team.

 

Job Summary

 

As the central coordinator and operational backbone of our EMEA Legal & Compliance team, you ensure smooth, efficient daily operations and support the team’s non-legal activities. Reporting to the General Counsel EMEA, you maintain strong record-keeping and administrative practices and handle day-to-day corporate housekeeping activities across EMEA.

You will also support departmental projects, including outside counsel management, contract administration, communications, and team events. In doing so, you drive collaboration, organization, and operational excellence that enable the Legal & Compliance team to protect and empower Terumo’s business across EMEA.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the efficient daily operations of the EMEA Legal & Compliance Department, supporting the General Counsel and team across administrative and non-legal matters
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel, coordinating engagements and ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery

  • Oversee budgeting and billing, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and compliance with internal guidelines, SOX, and audit requirements

  • Provide administrative support to the General Counsel, including high-level calendar management, meeting coordination, and organization of team communications and agendas

  • Oversee corporate housekeeping for all EMEA entities, liaising with external vendors and ensuring accurate, up-to-date corporate records

  • Manage the contract management system (CMS), including contract intake, execution, filing, user support, and reporting

  • Prepare and coordinate internal reporting, including updates to EMEA management and headquarters in Japan

  • Maintain key governance documents such as the Signing Policy, and develop best practices for operational excellence

  • Support departmental and cross-functional legal projects, driving progress through proactive coordination and organization

  • Organize team meetings, events, and training initiatives, fostering collaboration and continuous development within the Legal & Compliance team

  • Promote teamwork and open communication across the Legal & Compliance function to ensure consistency and alignment

 

Profile Description

 

This role combines team-focused administrative support with corporate housekeeping responsibilities, making it both challenging and rewarding for someone who enjoys working across multiple teams and managing complex operational tasks.

  • Relevant experience in legal operations, administration, and corporate housekeeping

  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with keen attention to detail

  • Trust and discretion; the ability to handle confidential information with care

  • Action-oriented mindset and proactivity; the ability to identify priorities, provide solutions, and take initiative

  • Flexibility and a collaborative approach; comfortable navigating across multiple teams and projects in a matrix environment

  • Ability to act as a trusted right-hand support to senior leadership

  • Fluency in Dutch and English; English for our international setting, and Dutch due to documentation requirements
