Terumo is a leading producer of medical devices. Specifically, in our plant in Leuven, we manufacture approximately 800 million injection needles, injection solutions, catheters, and accessories annually, precisely tailored to the needs of our pharmaceutical clients. We are expanding our activities with a brand-new production unit featuring a state-of-the-art machine park that combines automation with extensive data collection.

 

Internship Summary

 

As a Maintenance Engineering intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting important projects and ensuring the efficient implementation of technical setups. You will work closely with our experienced engineers to maintain and improve our production processes. You will contribute to essential aspects of our operations and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment, directly contributing to the success of this new production unit.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will assist the team with various tasks related to maintenance and engineering. Here are some possible projects you may contribute to:

 

Management of Technical Documentation:

  • Develop and implement documentation management procedures in SharePoint and SAP.
  • Collect, digitize, and organize documentation to ensure data is accurately and securely stored.

 

Technical Bill of Materials (BOM):

  • Ensure accurate material descriptions and link materials to relevant installations in SAP.
  • Analyze material usage and formulate optimization proposals.

 

Improvement Projects:

  • Design project plans, create as-built drawings, and contribute to projects focused on replacing or upgrading technology.
  • Work with Visio, PLC, and electrical/mechanical systems on projects, improvement ideas, and process upgrades.
  • Support maintenance processes by drafting work instructions for projects and developing new maintenance procedures.

 

Maintenance Instructions:

  • Update and create maintenance instructions for new installations and technologies.

 

Technician Support:

  • Assist in various technical areas, including mechanical, electrical, PLC, and facility maintenance.

 

Profile Description

 

We are looking for motivated students with a passion for engineering and maintenance in a high-tech production unit, who are eager to learn and grow hands-on. You are a perfect fit if you:

 

  • Are currently studying in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.).
  • Have a strong interest in maintenance engineering, technical documentation, and process optimization.
  • Possess excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Are proactive and flexible, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a good command of English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
