As Senior Process Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team where engineering, quality, maintenance and operations work closely together to continuously improve processes, yield and quality. 

Job Summary

As an Senior Process Engineer, you will spend significant time on the shop floor and in the toolshop, building an in-depth understanding of our moulds, equipment, materials and manufacturing processes. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with process improvement, project coordination and the technical coaching of technicians, providing day-to-day process-technical guidance while translating complex challenges into sustainable improvements. Through a structured learning and development path, you will further strengthen your technical, project management and people leadership capabilities, preparing yourself for future growth opportunities within our organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside moulding and mould maintenance technicians to develop a thorough, practical understanding of the equipment, moulds, materials and production processes.
• Analyse complex technical and process-related problems, determine their root causes and implement robust, compliant and sustainable solutions.
• Take responsibility for the process-technical coaching of technicians, providing instructions, sharing expertise and supporting their technical development.
• Capture, structure and document technical know-how, standards and working methods to ensure long-term knowledge retention and effective knowledge transfer.
• Identify and prioritise opportunities to improve safety, quality, yield, output, stability, cost, flexibility and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Drive process improvements and technical projects, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and using project management principles to ensure successful implementation and sustainable impact.
• Support the installation, qualification and introduction of new equipment, moulds, technologies and processes, from the initial requirements through implementation and aftercare.
• Ensure that all activities and improvements comply with applicable GMP, quality, safety, health and environmental requirements.

Profile Description

• Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical field, or an equivalent combination of a relevant technical qualification and professional experience, with a strong interest in mechanics.
• Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical production, engineering, maintenance or process environment.
• Strong mechanical and technical insight, with a genuine interest in working hands-on alongside technicians and developing expertise through practical experience on the shop floor and in the toolshop.
• Analytically strong and a structured problem-solver, able to turn complex issues into practical and lasting solutions.
• Experience with, or a clear interest in, project management and coordinating improvements across different teams.
• Motivated to coach others, explain technical subjects clearly and help colleagues grow. Initial leadership or coaching experience gained professionally or through other activities is an asset.
• Able to accurately document, structure and transfer critical technical knowledge to support long-term knowledge retention and team development.
• A collaborative, grounded and approachable team player who builds credibility by listening, contributing and working alongside others.
• Able to communicate fluently in Dutch, which is essential for safe, effective collaboration and technical coaching on the production floor. Professional knowledge of English is an asset.
• Willing and able to work on-site in Leuven on a regular basis, as close collaboration with technicians and hands-on involvement on the production floor are essential to success in this role.
