The Terumo Interventional Systems division (TIS) provides high quality, cutting-edge solutions for cardiac and vascular surgery, and interventional procedures performed inside blood vessels. We pursue therapies that minimize physical burden on patients. We offer diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for Interventional Cardiology (IC), Peripheral Intervention (PI), and Interventional Oncology (IO).
Job Summary
As a Product Specialist in our Italy sales department, you will be responsible for promoting our Interventional Oncology (IO) portfolio. Your goal is to support as well as initiate sales in targeted accounts by supporting the team with your technical expertise and market insights.
You will provide product support, education, specialized technical training, and insight in the proper use of specialty medical devices in selected IO procedures. Therefore, you will be operating often within a clinical and/or surgical environment. The geographical focus is on Italy mainly and expands to Greece and Cyprus as well.
You are under the direct supervision of Terumo Interventional Systems Cluster Senior Director, Roberto Caranti. In addition, you will work closely with all Sales & Marketing Managers, Product Managers and Area Managers.

Job Responsibilities
Product Expertise
- Understand product specifications and their positioning in the market
- Understand pathologies, therapeutic fields and medical procedures related to the product portfolio (Chemo Embolisation, Ablation...)
Sales & Technical Support
- Assist the Sales & Marketing team in the overall preparation of the annual business plan and more specifically in the preparation of tenders
- Assist HCP's in the appropriate use of the product portfolio, collect and communicate feedback from the market
- Make sure dealers, distributors and agents (+- 70% of sales) knowledge and training capabilities on the product portfolio remain up to date
- Analyse competitor products to determine Terumo Product Portfolio USP's
- Follow-up of product quality related complaints
Training of internal and external stakeholders
- Give insightful product training courses to both internal and external stakeholders such as sales colleagues, distributors, agents, HCP's, ...
Profile Description
- By preference you have a degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- A first field experience in a (vascular) surgery related field at a distributor or manufacturer. Medical device experience is a must.
- Skilled technical product understanding.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage customers.
- Good collaboration skills with our distributors and the IO marketing team.
- Professional fluency in English and Mothertongue level Italian.
- Willingness to travel 70% of your time.
- Ideal candidate location is close to airport / connection hubs to allow smooth travel.
