Job Summary

 

As an R&D Scientist in Imaging & Dosimetry at Quirem, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team dedicated to advancing medical technology. Reporting to the Manager of Imaging & Software Development TIO, you will contribute to fundamental and applied research and development projects. You will be playing a crucial role in the enhancement of Quirem products and the clinical application (use) of these products.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Conduct Research and Development: Work collaboratively within a team, under moderate supervision, to advance medical image processing and dosimetry techniques relevant to Quirem Products.

 

Documentation and Presentation: Thoroughly document research activities and results, presenting findings to internal stakeholders and external research partners.

 

Technical Documentation: Contribute to creating and updating technical documentation for Quirem's medical device software products.

 

Software Prototyping: Prototype new software functionalities for implementation in Quirem Software products, collaborating closely with clinical partners. Test and validate these functionalities.

 

Optimization Investigations: Investigate potential optimizations of medical image acquisition and reconstruction, supporting the application of Quirem products. This involves collaboration with industry and clinical partners.

 

Clinical Research Support: Provide support for clinical research related to image processing and dosimetry.

 

Progress Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of assigned R&D projects, maintaining transparency and communication within the team.

 

Verification Testing: Contribute to the verification testing of Quirem software products, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

 

Profile Description

 

To excel in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

 

  • Education: Master’s degree in Biomedical/Biophysical Engineering/Physics/Information Technology or equivalent field.
  • Experience: Interest in and experience with medical image acquisition and processing techniques. Knowledge and experience in software development for medical imaging purposes (e.g., Python, DICOM, ITK, VTK). Experience in dosimetry for medical purposes will be regarded as an additional advantage. 
  • Analytical Skills: Highly analytical approach to problem-solving with intense curiosity and a strong desire to innovate in the medical device field.
  • Creativity: A creative thinker open to new ideas, capable of bridging the gap between new techniques and clinical practice.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical writing.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working within an R&D team/environment, collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Quality & Regulatory: Preferably, some knowledge and first experience in working in a quality and regulatory-driven environment.
