Department Info

The Finance department supports the business by planning, organizing, auditing, accounting for and controlling the company's finances. We collaborate closely with the business and supporting departments in order to realise the best outcome for all stakeholders.

Job Summary

The responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to ensure the correct booking of invoices, to perform on monthly bases regular controls and ensure the execution of control lists. The senior accountant is key user and will be responsible for AP reporting and analysis and shall participate to monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closings supporting the finance administration of the reporting entities. In addition, he/she will represent accounting in projects where finance/accounting related matters and flows are involved.

Job Responsibilities

Procure-To-Pay (AP)

  • Error handling of the vendor master data (financial fields only) in collaboration with Master Data Governance;
  • Support the implementation of a “No PO, No Pay” culture and ensure a proper reference (e.g. PO number) is on the invoice;
  • Invoice handling and verification (sort, code and 3-way match);
  • Analyse and control invoice discrepancies and issues including price and quantity differences;
  • Ensure timely payments of invoices, review weekly payment run and team up with Cash & Bank if needed;
  • Mobile Expense follow up
  • Ensure compliance / execute SOX controls – monthly reconciliation of A/P accounts, update of policies & procedures, etc.;
  • Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.
  • Train/coach staff where necessary
  • Create KPI reports and analyse set up improvements
  • Key user of PTP accounting flows


Record-To-Report (GL)

  • Maintain accounts reconciliation system (Balance Sheet)
  • Examine accounting records to check for accuracy
  • Support local administrative functions in daily operations
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closings
  • Analyse current accounting flows, make suggestions for enhancements where needed
  • Be a representative of accounting department in projects where finance is involved 
     

Profile Description

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in accountancy;
  • Experience in accountancy: Accounts Payable in particular, General Accounting 
  • Good understanding of end to end process for AP;
  • Experience in SAP (MM & FI) is an asset;
  • Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken). Other languages can be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills -both written and verbal
  • Deadline oriented and ability to stick to time constraints
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Analytical mind
  • Ability to bring structure in information
