Our EMEA Human Resources team is dedicated to enhancing the employee experience at every key moment of their journey at Terumo. Within our People Experience team, the Compensation & Benefits Experience team supports associates, managers and HR colleagues across the EMEA region by ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations, delivering compensation and benefits expertise, and continuously improving HR processes and systems.
 

Job Summary

 

Within a team of experienced payroll and compensation professionals, you will act as a trusted expert and partner to the wider HR and Finance community across EMEA. In this role as Senior Compensation & Benefits Expert, you will ensure accurate payroll operations, provide expert support on compensation and benefits matters, and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems. Beyond managing complex payroll activities, you will drive process improvements, support strategic HR initiatives, contribute to reporting and analytics, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Job Responsibilities

 

  • Act as a trusted partner to HR and Finance stakeholders on payroll, compensation and benefits topics.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while providing solutions for more complex payroll challenges and questions.
  • Manage salary calculations and personnel administration activities across different associate populations.
  • Support and optimize compensation and benefits processes, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
  • Partner with People Experience colleagues to improve HRIS processes and ensure high data quality across internal and external systems.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive implementation of more efficient ways of working.
  • Maintain and enhance Tier 0 self-service resources and internal HR communications, creating an optimal employee and manager experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external payroll providers, authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support expatriate payroll administration, including topics related to international payroll, shadow payroll and salary splits.
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc payroll, personnel and financial reports, providing meaningful insights and analytics.
  • Support salary costing and budgeting activities in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Deliver training and guidance to HR colleagues, managers and associates on policies, systems and processes.

 

Profile Description

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in payroll, salary administration and/or compensation & benefits.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and associated legislation within an international environment.
  • Experience with compensation and benefits administration and payroll-related reporting.
  • Experience with expatriate payroll, shadow payroll and salary split arrangements is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with payroll and HR data.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of another European language is an asset.
  • Experience with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and/or Protime is a plus.
  • Able to build strong relationships across functions and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proactive, autonomous and comfortable working in a complex international environment.
