Department Info

The Business Continuity Process Manager will be part of the Internal audit department that performs an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve Terumo Europe's operations.

The Internal Audit team helps Terumo Europe accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

The Internal audit team provides insights and recommendations to management and BOD based on analyses and assessments of data and business processes.

Job Summary

As Business Continuity Process Manager you will design a framework for Business Continuity based on a risk assessment and business continuity approach. You'll liaise closely with various departments (Operations, Supply Chain, IT, HR, ...) on the design, validation and implementation of business continuity plans. Ideally the position is filled in our Belgium based HQ, covering operations and Terumo Europe activity throughout EMEA. You'll oversee full governance of the project and report into the Internal Audit and J-SOX Manager, Kelly Quinten. 

Job Responsibilities

Business Continuity Management

 

· Develop and implement governance frameworks for business continuity projects in support of organizational business strategies

· Create and maintain templates for business continuity plans and procedures. Set up process flows to maintain BCP’s

· Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and integration of business continuity plans

· Develop testing plans to conduct drills on the various BCP’s

· Act as a business partner to other departments, providing guidance and support on business continuity matters. Develop external communication towards tender requirements/customer requirements

· Conduct and Support risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities

· Develop and implement business continuity strategies and plans to ensure the organization can continue operations during disruptions

· Coordinate and lead business continuity exercises and drills to test the effectiveness of plans

· Follow-up on the maintenance and updating of business continuity plans to reflect changes in the organization and its environment

· Provide training and awareness programs for staff on their roles and responsibilities in business continuity

· Monitor and report on the status of business continuity initiatives and potential risks to senior management and the internal audit manager

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to business continuity

· Support internal audits and regulatory exams of business continuity plans and processes

· Test business continuity plans (BCPs) regularly to ensure their effectiveness and make necessary adjustments based on test results

· Communicate with stakeholders on BCP initiative. Persuade stakeholders on the importance and need of BCM when met with scepticism and opposition

 


Continuous Improvement

 

· Identify opportunities for improving business continuity processes and practices

· Implement best practices and lessons learned from business continuity exercises and real incidents

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization regarding business continuity

 

Reporting

 

· Prepare and present regular reports on business continuity activities, status, and risks to senior management

· Identify problems and improvement points and act agile in solving them

· Maintain accurate records of business continuity plans, exercises, and incidents

· Provide detailed post-incident reports and analyses to identify areas for improvement

 

Compliance

 

· Ensure that business continuity plans and processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices

· Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards related to business continuity

· Conduct regular audits and reviews of business continuity plans to ensure ongoing compliance

Profile Description

Extensive BCM experience with a strong understanding of risk assessments, business impact analyses, and continuity strategies
Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, ABCP, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer) are a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to document processes accurately
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to navigate differing opinions while prioritizing company objectives
Ability to develop governance frameworks, create business continuity plans, and conduct exercises/drills
Knowledge of compliance, risk management policies, and industry regulations related to business continuity
Proactive and results-oriented, with adaptability, perseverance, stress resilience
Tech-savvy mindset, open to digital transformation in BCM processes
Ability to train and educate staff, delivering awareness programs and presentations
High ethical standards, integrity, reliability, and respect for confidentiality
