Department Info
Our ICT department, operating from our HQ in Belgium is a shared service center that provides IT services to Terumo's internal and external customers across the EMEA region.
One team focuses on Infrastructure, Operations & Security. The other team focuses on Applications, Enterprise Architecture & Analytics.
Job Summary
As part of this department, the main responsibility of the Business Analyst Clinical Technology is to be a proactive partner of the European Medical and Clinical Division (EMCD) by supporting and developing a standardized ICT application portfolio tailored to the clinical needs.
This role involves ensuring seamless integration of clinical systems, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing the overall efficiency of clinical processes. The Business Analyst Clinical Technology will work closely with various stakeholders, including IT, clinical, global business and compliance teams, to develop and maintain a robust IT infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of the healthcare environment. This function is critical in driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services through effective use of technology.
Job Responsibilities
Engage business and IT stakeholders, creating and building (global) relationships
- Conduct stakeholder analysis to understand their needs, expectations, and influence
- Develop and maintain open lines of communication to address concerns and gather feedback
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements
- Act as a liaison between business and IT teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding and foster strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders through consistent and transparent interactions
- Advocate for the adoption of standardized processes and tools across the decentralized IT landscape
- Ensure seamless integration of systems and applications to support business operations
- Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT projects and decentralized IT operations
Implement applications to streamline business processes and data flows and contribute to the integration of systems to achieve valuable business outcomes
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify business process inefficiencies and data flow bottlenecks
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design application solutions that address identified needs
- Plan and execute the integration of new applications with existing systems and ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems and applications
- Conduct rigorous testing of new applications to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards and address any issues or bugs identified during testing before full deployment
- Maintain detailed documentation of implemented applications, processes, and integration points
- Ensure knowledge transfer and retention through proper documentation practices
- Measure and report on the business outcomes achieved through the implementation of new applications and demonstrate the value added by the new applications in terms of efficiency, cost savings, and other key metrics
Apply Technology
- Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
- Works closely with the program management office (PMO) to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle
- Provides application support to end users to ensure the applications are operating in line with their intended use and with the overall enterprise architecture
- Collaborates with business on the maintenance and governance of the managed applications, with focus on incident and change management, ensuring incident resolution and organizing change advisory boards
Profile Description
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in ICT or Computer science or similar through experience
• Experience of about 5 years working in a regulated environment, experience in Medical devices is an advantage
• Experience working with clinical IT systems is considered a plus
• Displays intellectual curiosity and integrity
• Organizationally savvy, with the ability to navigate organizational complexities
• Skilled at influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making
• Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
• Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
• Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business problems and propose solutions
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Technology neutral: remains unbiased toward any specific technology or vendor choice and is more interested in results than personal preferences
