Within our EMEA Finance organization, the Finance Business Partnering team plays a pivotal role in supporting business performance and strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior business leaders, Finance Business Partners provide financial insights, challenge assumptions, and help translate strategy into sustainable and profitable growth.
Job Summary
As Finance Business Partner Manager – Business Units, you will lead a team of Finance Business Partners and act as the strategic finance partner for our Business Units across EMEA.
You will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and ensure informed decision-making through high-quality financial analysis and business insights. In addition, you will oversee the financial planning cycle, strengthen governance and business partnering practices, and foster collaboration across Finance, Global Business Services, and the business.
This is a highly visible leadership role combining strategic finance, people management, and business partnership in an international environment.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as the trusted finance advisor to senior Business Unit leadership, providing strategic financial guidance and challenging business assumptions.
- Support the development and evaluation of business strategies, investments, and key initiatives, including post-implementation reviews.
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Build strong partnerships with Business Units, Global Finance teams, Global Business Services, and regional Finance teams to support aligned decision-making.
- Drive the further evolution of the Finance Business Partnering model towards greater business impact.
Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead the Business Unit financial planning cycle, including monthly closing, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
- Deliver meaningful financial analyses, performance reports, and forward-looking insights to support business decisions.
- Develop and improve KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics that enable effective business steering.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with financial policies and governance standards.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Drive continuous improvements in financial processes, reporting, and decision-support tools.
- Promote standardization, simplification, and operational excellence across the Business Unit Finance Business Partnering activities.
- Coordinate closely with Accounting and other Finance functions to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.
- Continuously assess processes and identify opportunities to increase value creation and efficiency.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Finance Business Partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Act as a role model for Terumo's values of Respect, Responsibility, and Continuous Improvement.
Profile Description
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Finance, Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering, including leadership roles within an international organization.
- Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and business analysis.
- Experience within the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or another similarly regulated international industry is highly preferred.
- To ensure close collaboration with our EMEA stakeholders, we are looking for a candidate who is currently based in Europe and is willing to travel internationally when required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a structured and results-oriented approach.
- Fluent in English.
