Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Financial Accountant to support accounting operations across the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and Poland. This role is ideal for someone beginning their accounting career who is eager to develop hands-on experience within a dynamic, multi-entity environment. Reporting to the Financial Accounting North Lead, you will perform core administrative accounting tasks, support month-end close activities, maintain accurate general ledger records, and contribute to local reporting and compliance requirements. This position offers exposure to international accounting practices, SAP systems, and opportunities to take ownership of key recurring processes. This is a 12-month contract, based in Camberley (Surrey, UK) in a hybrid working model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support month-end closing activities, including journal postings, accrual calculations, depreciation runs, and IFRS16 processes.

  • Perform key recurring tasks such as VAT netting, sales deferrals, stock provisions, and recurring journal set-up.

  • Maintain and clear balance sheet general ledger accounts, flagging anomalies for further investigation.

  • Assist with the creation of manual debit notes for intercompany sales.

  • Produce and follow up on statistical internal orders and local statutory data requirements.

  • Support external audit processes by gathering documentation, samples, and explanations.

  • Identify opportunities to standardize, improve, and increase efficiency across accounting processes.

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team and assist with local entity tasks as required.

Profile Description

  • An early-career accounting professional, ideally AAT qualified or developing experience within the first 0 to 3 years of your accounting career.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple entities, deadlines, and time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in repetitive and high-volume tasks.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable, with genuine pride in delivering high-quality work.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.

  • Solid Excel skills; experience with SAP is beneficial but not required (full training can be provided).

  • Resilient under pressure and flexible to work extended hours during peak periods such as month-end.

Offer

  • Start your accounting career in an international environment: Join a team that supports multiple entities, giving you hands-on exposure to international accounting standards, cross-country processes, and a truly multicultural business environment. Your work will help ensure high-quality financial operations that support Terumo’s mission of improving patient care globally.

  • Rewarding your contribution: We offer a competitive salary aligned with market benchmarks, along with a supportive environment where your accuracy, ownership, and commitment are valued. You will be part of a global organization that recognizes the importance of reliable financial operations.

  • A collaborative and supportive team: Become part of a close-knit team, working alongside colleagues who value respect, partnership, and accountability. You’ll collaborate with finance professionals across the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and Poland, contributing to shared goals across borders.

  • Opportunities to learn and grow: This role provides strong foundational experience in month-end processes, tax reporting, SAP systems, and multi-entity accounting. You’ll benefit from on-the-job learning, mentorship from experienced colleagues, and opportunities to take ownership as your confidence grows.

  • Hybrid working and flexibility: Enjoy a balanced work model with 2 to 3 days per week in the office and the ability to work from home on other days. During busy periods, such as month-end, additional hours may be required, but your manager supports flexibility at other times.

  • Connect with us: You’ll have open, constructive conversations with the hiring team throughout the recruitment process, giving you a clear picture of the role, expectations, and team culture before joining.
