Department Info
The Terumo Europe ICT department, operating from Belgium, is a shared service center that provides IT services to Terumo's internal and external customers across the EMEA region.
One team focuses on Infrastructure, Operations & Security. The other team focuses on Applications, Enterprise Architecture & Analytics
In this role you'll join the Applications, Enterprise Architecture and Analytics team, reporting into the director, Sigurd Segers.
Job Summary
The IT Business Partner Digital Technologies – Leverkusen will lead the local digital transformation and application landscape setup for the Leverkusen site post-closing of an asset acquisition transaction. This role is pivotal in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational continuity for the Contract Development Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) within Pharmaceutical Solutions Division (PSD)
The role will focus on:
- Transitioning Quality Management Systems (QMS) to Terumo standards within a 1-year horizon.
- Ensuring seamless operation and setup of all IT applications post-integration.
- Defining the global Quality Management IT footprint for PSD factories, aligning with other factory IT teams for execution beyond the Leverkusen setup.
This position requires strong business partnering capabilities, deep knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically across global and local dimensions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the local implementation and stabilization of Enterprise Platforms including SAP (stock management), eQMS, ERP, MES, LIMS, and PLM.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Leverkusen site and global IT teams to ensure alignment on digital strategy and execution.
- Support collaboration between Terumo IT organization with stakeholders at seller entity to ensure continuity of operations under the Transition Services Agreement (TSA), with a special focus on Quality systems and eventually supporting a transition out plan to a new CDMO Quality IT footprint for Terumo
- Drive the definition and rollout of a future-proof quality platform for CDMO operations, ensure that you work in collaboration with Global counterparts of PSD factories and Enterprise architecture to drive and align to a Global footprint
- Ensure all applications are compliant with regulatory standards and support audit readiness.
- Partner with business, manufacturing as well as quality leadership responsible for the site to identify digital opportunities and translate them into actionable IT initiatives.
- Contribute to the global PSD digital roadmap, ensuring Leverkusen’s needs are represented and integrated.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Operations, Network and Security teams to ensure seamless and secured operations for the site.
Profile Description
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing IT, especially within CDMO environments
- Strong understanding of SAP (especially stock management), eQMS, ERP, MES, LIMS, and PLM systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes and drive alignment across global and local teams
- Skilled in business partnering, with the ability to translate operational needs into digital solutions
- Experience in managing transitions and integrations in regulated environments
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Willigness and ability to travel when requested
